Hi. I'm Emily.
Hello, I'm Emily Marsden — a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota (#873) and a Registered Art Therapist. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago in 2010. For over 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with adults (18+) who are seeking support in finding their voice, setting healthier boundaries, cultivating self-compassion, healing from trauma, and challenging self-defeating patterns.

My approach is grounded in a trauma-focused and holistic lens, integrating mindfulness practices and somatic (body-based) interventions. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey rooted in trust, mutual respect, and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore all the layers of who you are — not just the parts in distress, but also the resilient, creative, and evolving parts that are seeking space to grow.
In my practice, I strive to create a safe and affirming environment that is compassionate, curious, and occasionally infused with humor. I’m also not afraid to be honest and direct when it serves your healing. I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating:

-
Life transitions
-
Anxiety & depression
-
Trauma & PTSD
-
Self-esteem and identity concerns
-
Interpersonal and sexual violence

No matter where you are in your therapeutic journey, showing up for yourself takes courage. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward your goals and reconnect with your most authentic self.

Let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit — we can begin this journey together.
